A day after the demise of the Chief Minister, the actress took to Facebook to express her anguish.
She recalled an event in which the former Chief Minister delivered a speech. Here’s what Andrea posted…
” I’m posting this a day late because I was too upset yesterday. The year was 2003, and we were both tense & excited at the thought of seeing her. The car drew up with its usual sirens & security. We all watched her get on the podium, where she delivered a speech in possibly the best English I’ve heard from any Indian politician, in that quiet yet commanding voice. My eye strayed to the hem of her saree, and caught a glimpse of her glittering stiletto heels. Wow, I thought to myself, what a woman. She really was one of a kind & her passing feels like the end of an era. I’m so proud of TN for giving her the respectful farewell she deserved. RIP Amma ! We will miss you
P.S: my mum dug out this photograph from my student days and insisted that I share this ‘cherished memory of our beloved late CM’ with all of you. So that’s what I’m doing.”
