The director, who has been consistently delivering good, quality films on low budgets in short periods, has finished his upcoming medico crime thriller Kuttram 23 in just 45 days.
Talking to SouthScope, Arivazhagan says, “I am someone who believes that quality does not depend on time. To make a good quality film, you don’t need lots of time. You can do a good film in a reasonable amount of time.”
Arivazhagan has managed to deliver films that have unique shades, even if they come under the same genre.
“I have already done two thrillers. While one was a crime thriller (Aaravathu Sinam), the other was a supernatural thriller (Eeram). I wanted to showcase a different shade and therefore chose a medico-crime thriller this time,” says Arivazhagan.
Giving details, Arivazhagan says, “I have been a big fan of writer Rajesh Kumar’s novels. So, I approached Rajesh Kumar sir and asked him for his 10 best novels. From the ten that he gave, I picked one of them and made that the knot for this story. We developed that knot into Kuttram 23.”
Saying that the issue being dealt with in Kuttram 23 would be one that all of us would be able to relate to, he says, “I did not want to take a medical issue that we wouldn’t know about. I wanted to deal with an issue that all of us face.”
The film is now ready. So, when are they planning to release it? “We are looking to release it post Deepavali,” he signs off.
