Many have found the teaser interesting and the team is feeling extremely confident about their film. In fact, Kajal Aggarwal has even gone on record saying that this film would make it to the top of her favourite films’ list.
Talking to SouthScope, Kajal says, “Kavalai Vendam is a wonderful rom-com with a lot more emotions to it. It is a film that will make you laugh and cry. It describes relationships really well and is a laugh riot.”
If it is going to make us laugh and cry, did it do that to her as well while she was working on it?
“It did,” says Kajal with a smile and goes on to give details about a sequence that brought tears to her eyes.
“I was actually crying while doing a particular sequence. In fact, I was sobbing while doing it. Well, I can’t get into the details of it. But yes, I could relate certain scenes to certain experiences. The climax of the film is this one very emotional scene between JIiva and me where I burst out crying. I really burst into tears and was in tears all through the day.”
This is the first time that Kajal is working with Jiiva, her co-star in the film and the actress makes it clear that they are now both friends. Ask her to comment on the experience of working with Jiiva and she says, “He is a very friendly and easy going guy who is very chilled out. So, I did not have to make an effort to work with him. I did not have to make an effort to get to know him or to try to be friends with him. It all just came very naturally. From the first day, we got along like a house on fire. We got along well. The compatability off screen translates on screen and that translated beautifully in this film.”
Usually, there is a friendly competition between co-stars while working on a film. Was there such a friendly competition between Jiiva and her while working on Kavalai Vendam?
Kajal says with a big grin, “Of course, there was. We both were very demanding of our director’s attention and time.”
So, who won?
She giggles before saying “Me” and signing off.
