There’s good news for fans of actor Kamal Haasan, who are eagerly awaiting the release of the sequel to his Vishwaroopam.
Yes, they may soon get to watch the film as the actor himself has decided to step in and ensure the film’s release.
Kamal Haasan recentl y took to Twitter to make the announcement.
He tweeted, “4 all looking forward to VR2. Am personally getting in 2 clear the path. Bigger obstacles are out of the way. Whats left is technical & legal” (sic). In the film, Kamal plays a RAW Agent called Major Wisam Ahmad Kashmiri. The film also features Rahul Bose as Omar Qureshi and Shekhar Kapur as Colonel Jagannath. Pooja Kumar plays Kamal’s wife and Andrea Jeremiah plays Ashmita Subramaniam.
It may be recalled that the film, the first part of which did exceptionally well in the box office, was produced and released by Kamal Haasan himself along with PVP. Although some Muslim organisations initally opposed the film’s release as they were apprehensive about some scenes in the action-thriller, Kamal allayed their fears and ensured the film’s release.
It was evident right from the start that Kamal had plans of making a sequel to the film. In fact, a considerable portion of the second part was shot along with the first part itself.
While Kamal released the first part himself, he sold the rights of the second part to producer Aascar V Ravichandran. However, Aascar Ravichandran, who unfortunately suffered heavy losses unexpectedly, has not been in a position to release the film.
After waiting for a considerable amount of time, Kamal has now stepped in to ensure that his film Vishwaroopam 2 is released soon.
