Even as several film units struggle to continue shoots because of the cash crunch caused by the demonetisation drive, the team of director Sasikumar‘s next film, Balle Vellaiya Thevaa, is heaving a sigh of relief.
That is because the team managed to complete shooting the film just before the demonetisation drive began. The film is now ready for release and is likely to hit screens for Christmas.
“We were not affected by the cash crunch much as we had completed everything and only a day’s work was left when the government announced its decision to demonetise,” says actor, director and producer Sasikumar. Film units require cash everyday as they have to pay workers of all 24 crafts that are associated with making a film. So, Lady luck seems to have smiled on the team of Balle Vellaiya Thevaa.
The director, who is known for making clean, good commercial entertainers with significant social messages, says that this film will be a through commercial entertainer with comedy, action, drama and a strong social message. “All these elements will be present in this film too like they were present in my earlier films. Only difference is that in this film, the comedy component will be a lot more,” he says.
Apart from Sasikumar and Tanya, the film, which has been directed by Solai Prakash, a former assistant director of Sudha Kongara, will also have comedienne Kovai Sarala in an important role.
