HUSBANDS IN GOA
Three husbands, who are thick friends too, are on an outing... Jerry is a lawyer at the family court and is ‘happy’ with his wife Teena. Govind, who is a chartered account is married to Abhirami, who is very religious. Arjun is an interior designer and his wife Veena makes her money running a training institute.
Jerry, Govind and Arjun get along like a house on fire, but their wives, though loving, seem to make things unbearable for them. And at one point of time, they feel they have had enough and set off on a trip. It’s then that a guy named Sunny crosses tracks with them. He joins them and together, they all set off to Goa.
Sunny, a cinematographer, drinks a lot and is quarrelsome too. His wife Annie is a lecturer. Temperamentally, he is very different from Jerry, Govind and Arjun. But then he starts influencing them and slowly, the trio is lured by the cinematographer, not knowing what is in store for them.
This forms the plot of Husbands in Goa, directed by Saji Surendran, who had earlier given us Ivar Vivahitharayaal, Happy Husbands and 4 Friends.
Indrajith plays Jerry while Jayasurya is Govind and Asif Ali is Arjun. Rima Kallingal plays Teena, Bhama plays Abhirami and Remya Nambeeshan is Veena. Lal portrays the very interesting Sunny, while Praveena is Annie. Kalabhavan Mani, Suraaj Venjaramoodu and Innocent also play key roles, while Sarayu, Archana and Sonia also do pivotal roles.
Says Indrajith about his role and the film, “It’s an entertainer; I play Jerry and am one of the three husbands who want to make the most of their trip to Goa. Jerry is a lawyer in the family court and mostly handles divorce cases, and professionally gets involved with listening to issues between husbands and wives, solving them or getting divorces worked out. At home, he leads a stressful life. He gets up in the morning, washes clothes, cleans, cooks food for himself and his wife and then goes to work. His wife, though she loves him, doesn’t know how to do things. The premise makes for a completely humourpacked entertainer.”
Produced by UTV Motion Pictures, Husbands in Goa sees Saji Surendran teaming up once again with his favourite scenarist Krishna Poojapura. Anil Nair is the cinematographer. The film is at present being shot in Ernakulam and will soon move over to Goa, where the real fun will begin.
