Fans have been curious about what the film is all about. When we spoke to Gautami, she said, ” Namadhu is the story of four people. In other words, they are four stories that converge into one. Increasingly, we have begun looking at society as an entity of individuals. The differences between them are also getting more pronounced. Namadhu will stress on the fact that we are all one and that there are no differences between us,” says the actress who is elegance personified.
Gautami is known to carefully choose her roles. Ask her what made her pick this one and she replies, “Actually, I loved the story. In fact, let me tell you how I was approached for this project. One fine morning, I got a message from a known technician, a cinematographer to be more precise, that director Chandrashekar Yelatti was asking for my number to get in touch with me to discuss a project. Director Chandra Shekar Yeleti, a widely respected professional, has won a National Award for his first Telugu film Aithe. I instantly said ‘yes’ as I recollected having seen some of his work and being impressed with it. Two days later, he gave me an outline of this story and I loved it. That was how I got onboard.”
Gautami will be playing a housewife in this film too. “I play a housewife called Gayathri. Uravashi plays my neighbour in the film. She plays another middle-class housewife. Both wome are each other’s support systems,” she says, before going on to heap praises on her co-artiste.
“Urvashi is such a brilliant actress. It is hard for someone to say they can’t act when you have such a great performer as your co-artiste,” she signs off.
