The Tamil Film Producers Council has revoked actor Vishal‘s temporary suspension from the council and has reinstated him as a member.
Sources in the industry say that the decision was taken at an executive committee meeting of the Producer Council held today.
The Producer Council, on November 14 last year, chose to temporarily suspend Vishal’s membership in the council after the actor, in an interview to a vernacular magazine, allegedly criticised the functioning of the council.
Vishal, in response to this move, moved the High Court. The Producer Council submitted in Court that they would revoke the ban if the actor tendered an apology for his comments.
Vishal, through his lawyer, tendered an apology the next day. However, the producer council did not revoke the suspension. Vishal again moved the court for justice and the court asked the producer council to revoke the suspension, failing which it said it would have to pass orders to the same effect.
It is in the wake of these developments that the producer council has chosen to revoke the ban on the actor’s membership in the council.
