In a statement, the Sangam’s president, actor Nasser, said, “On perusal of the documents, we have come to know of a lot of irregularities that have occurred during the regime of the previous office-bearers of the Nadigar Sangam. We have debated about this in our executive committee meetings and arrived at some decisions. These decisions were explained to our members during the general body meetings and permission has been acquired from them to implement these decisions.
“We decided to initiate action both under the law and under the rules of the Nadigar Sangam. Already, legal action has been initiated. We are now initiating action under the rules of the Nadigar Sangam as part of which we have now decided to temporarily suspend former office bearers Sarathkumar, Radharavi and Vagai Chandrashekar from the primary membership of the Sangam till the time the investigation is completed. Corruption does not mean just irregularities in finances but also in buying and selling of properties of the trust. We are in the process of sending letters demanding explanations from some some other members as well in this regard.”
Nasser also said, “This is just a temporary decision. Once the court verdict comes, we will take a series of decisions.”
