Setting the record straight, actor Sarathkumar has clarified that he never said that Superstar Rajinikanth was unqualified to start a political party.
Stating that some of the websites had exaggerated and misreported his statements, SarathKumar, on his Twitter account, said, “At the press conference today, questions were raised on several topics such as the pain and difficulties of our farmers, the compensation announced by the state government, the research and compensation by the Centre and the impending water crisis.
“The last question was on what I thought about Superstar Rajinikanth’s recent statement at the ‘Tribute to Cho’ event in which he had observed that there was an ‘extraordinary situation.’ To this question, I had replied that they should ask only Rajini as to why he had said like that.
“Later, to my opinion that only a Tamilian must always rule Tamil Nadu, friends from the media asked me what I would do if Rajinikanth was to start a party. I replied that Rajini was a sweet person and a friend. However, if he were to start a party, I would oppose it.”
The actor and politician said, “A website report, claiming that I had said that Rajini was unqualified to start a political party, is wrong and contrary to truth.”
The actor further went on to say, “I think when an interview is given the facts have to be published, those who attended, reported facts and those who did not misinterpreted.”
