Parul Yadav’s glam act is evidently seen on the silver screen. But there’s more to her than the obvious. Not many know that she is an adventure freak. Sashidhar Adivi presents the lesser known side of the hottie who was recently found globetrotting with aplomb.
Parul Yadav’s desire to travel often takes her to beautiful and mysterious places. The more adventurous the vacation, the more she enjoys it. After wrapping-up the shooting for one of her films in Switzerland¸ the free spirited actress decided to stay back and discover her daredevil side by trying her luck with adventurous sports. And for someone who has fear of heights, paragliding is always a challenge but she finds taking that leap of faith exhilarating.
“I heard that travelling makes a person wiser, and the confidence levels go up when you travel alone, and paragliding was on my bucket list. Wow! It was incredible and amazing!” says Parul describing her first ever experience of paragliding. “I had a lot of jitters when I was jumping off the cliff but the moment I was in the air all the fear went away and I started enjoying the ride. More than being nerv ous, I was excited. I even started to locate the hotel I checked into, Interlaken. The view of snowcapped mountains and greenery was breath taking. I have a new found confidence now after I overcame my fear of heights,” reveals Parul, who recommends it as a “must-do” for all visitors.
Two months after her Swiss schedule, the lissome actress found Himalayas calling where she tried her luck at River Rafting. “I love being adventurous and River Rafting was on my agenda because I love waters. My mom was scared to come but I forced her and literally pushed her into the boat. She enjoyed it so much that she thanked me. It was a great memory. I also went horse riding, tried my hand out at Rugged Biking, cycling and water surfing. I believe indulging in sports is a natural way to stay fit whilst enjoying nature,” shares Parul.
Her trip to Swiss Alps, Parul describes, as one of the memorable experiences. “The whole journey traveling in the train (11,300 ft above sea level) to Jungfrau Mountains was simply breathtaking. And the best part is that enroute there’s a Bollywood restaurant that’s dedicated to Yash Raj. I indulged in Biryani, Dal fry and Dal Makhani. The train is more than 80 y ears old but it feels so good while traveling in it.”
“I also got the opportunity to visit Tiger temple. It was an amazing place. I never thought I will get a chance to touch a tiger (smiles). How the organizers tame a wild animal is something to watch out for!”
Parul took the plunge for a once-in-a-lifetime experience of Scuba Diving in Thailand. “When I went to Thailand, I had a go at scuba diving. I hired a Yacht and sailed it myself all the way to Coral Islands. The instructor put a heavy vessel on my head (Oxygen vessel) and asked me to go down into the water. After going to certain extent, I started feeling breathless and I said I can’t do. But later I did it. The water pressure is so much that you can’t listen to anything and it was so scary underneath. The instructor put me at ease and it was an awesome ride.
